Frequently Asked Questions

I cannot rest my password to access my account

When you click the button asking for an email to be sent for a password reset it will most definitely land in your junkmail, and for some email servers (gmail for example) it may land directly in your bin, even without you moving it there. Please note the email will be sent to you from Squarespace, not Alli directly, so look out for it in those places. The only reason in which you won’t be sent the reset email is if you entered your email address incorrectly in our system when you signed up.

ARE ALLI’S WYNYARD EVENTS DISABILITY ACCESSIBLE?

ABOUT WYNYARD

Wynyard is a small North West Coast town (population approx. 6000) in Lutruwita, the traditional lands of the Palawa people. It is a lovely little place surrounded by beach, river and bush. We are approximately a 20 minute drive from Burnie, and an hour drive from Devonport and that entire drive follows the coastline of the Bass Straight.

Overlooking Wynyard is the infamous Table Cape, home of the Wynyard Tulip festival (The tulips bloom in October each year and yes you can tiptoe through them!) And, my personal favourite, Fossil Bluff where you will find an abundance of beauty. Our beaches are cold to swim in, and incredible!

Wynyard is located on the Inglis River which delights every day whether the tide is in or out and a river track which leads you in either direction for a long walk around both the river and the foreshore. The Foreshore Market is held on the 1st and 3rd Sundays of each month and there you will find fresh vegies, soughdough, hot food, coffee, plants, home made/hand crafted goods and second hand bric a brac.

FINDING YOUR WAY TO WYNYARD

For those of you flying into Tasmania, our closest airport is The Burnie Airport, which is actually located in Wynyard (not Burnie) and is a couple of km’s away from our retreat room. Rex and Qantas airlines fly into The Burnie Airport from Melbourne, which is a 1 hour flight. Whether you are making your way to Wynyard as an international or interstate guest, I recommend flying to Melbourne, than taking a flight from Melbourne to The Burnie airport.

Please not that as a regional airline (and small plane!) Rex airline have a baggage allowance of 15kg, so if you are travelling with heavier luggage book an extra weight allowance when you book your ticket.

The Devonport Airport and Launceston airports are 1 and 2 hour drives away respectively, but you may find more flight options and cheaper flights into either of these airports.

For those of you ferrying into Tasmania, The Spirit of Tasmania has both daytime or overnight options and you can bring your vehicle with you. The Spirit leaves Geelong (Vic) and docks at East Devonport, approximately a 1 hour drive from Wynyard.

If you fly with Rex Airlines they will ask you on flight if you would like them to book you a taxi on arrival. If you intend to taxi please use this option as there will not be taxis waiting at the airport (we are a tiny town!). Car rentals are available at The Burnie Airport through either Avis and Hertz, but please book ahead of time as these car rental outlets are extremely small and may not be able to cater to your need.
